Shop Update: New Look!

Adel Zeller Handmade has been given a make-over! I made a new business card design today to send off to the printers, and I was so happy with how they turned out, I decided to redesign the shop, too (and update the Facebook page profile photo).

tokidoki® Tattooed Barbie® Doll

So an indie company had the audacity to commission, produce, and sell a Barbie® Doll sporting permanent tattoos. (As opposed to the similarly available Barbie® with temporary tattoos.) Let the fur fly! as sensationalism sets in, and the dissenting opinions of the very loud minority overshadow reason and sensibility (yet again, go figure).

Weekly Calendar Notepads 2012

I have released two new items into my Etsy shop! The “Clare 2012” and “Scribbled 2012” Weekly Calendars are available for purchase as magnetic tear-off notepads and printable PDF files. All notepads are in stock and ready-to-ship as of today. Can’t wait to give one to my mom for Christmas!

T-Shirt Wantingness

T-Shirts. I love them.

Some might say, that I fanatically collect them.

But that would be an overstatement, pfft (okay maybe just a little)

I’ve been wearing tees with printed graphics of all the things that are wonderful, since I was old enough to choose my own clothes. When I was 12, my favorite was an allover print Betty Boop shirt (it was fantastic).

Jeans and tees are what I wear. Year round. Mostly black, which in the summer is unfortunate. Mostly band shirts, with some movies sprinkled in there. More conversations have been initiated by strangers because of the t-shirt that I’m wearing than anything else.

Purchasing new shirts for myself happens less and less frequently, now in my era of parenthood. (not that there’s any lack of great kids shirts) But as soon as its mom’s turn, I’m gonna be all over these:

Sky Tide Photomerge

Photos taken by me the morning of June 20, 2006, around 9:30 a.m., just outside of Atkins, Iowa (west of Cedar Rapids); clouds supposedly classified as stratocumulus undulatus asperatus. Stitched together using Adobe Photoshop Photomerge, with heavy seam-flow finish work done by hand after automation.

Nine Inch Nails: Ghosts & Photographic Artwork

The art aesthetic of Nine Inch Nails has always been incredibly appealing to me; the fact that I also love the music is a total win-win situation. As I’ve grown through the years from a moody and brooding teenager into an urbane sophisticate of an adult (okay, lol at that), I’ve been lucky enough that NIN’s music has seemed to morph and evolve along with me. I haven’t “outgrown” it like so many other bands, but I’ve been able to go along on the ride and with each new album I just love it more and more–I hope it never ends!

I recently purchased Ghosts I-IV, which isn’t exactly “new” anymore (it came out back in 2008), but for some ridiculous reason I had skipped over it or forgotten about it until this year. But I am so glad I picked it up, even if I was a little late! I love the instrumentals of Nine Inch Nails, and a whole two-disc album’s worth?! Fantastic! Then I posted about it on Facebook, only to realize that I was not alone in my procrastination: two of my NIN-head friends who I thought would be chastising me for not listening sooner were asking me to get them copies! Naturally, I referred them to the website where you can download the whole album for five bucks. But anyway, on to my original impetus for this blog entry, which is the breathtaking artwork accompanying this album.

FNM Poster Love

I am absolutely adoring these fresh Faith No More tour posters! I must also say that I am engorged with jealousy when I see all the tour dates listed in Europe and South America, with not even a whisper of possible U.S. tour dates. :( I’m holding out hope for 2010 FNM tour in America!
