Handmade Christmas 2012

I made blankets for the kids this year for Christmas, and gave them on Christmas Eve. They both look exhausted in this photo because it was 9:30 at night and we had just gotten back from a long night of dinner and festivities with family.

I’ve added a bunch of stuff to the “Made Things” album on my Facebook page, and I wanted to post them here in the blog, too.

Finished Crafts Backlog

There are a few things I’ve made this year that have been finished for a while but I never took the time to photograph. Well I finally got around to it! (plus more) I’ve also added these to the Adel Zeller Handmade Facebook page, and comments are welcome!

Happy Mother’s Day!

I hope that all the wonderful moms out there are having a great Mother’s Day! This is my first Mother’s Day as a mother-of-two, and I am feeling great! I thought having one kid was awesome, and then when #2 was on the way, I was very apprehensive about how I would possibly manage to split my love between two tiny people, and what if I couldn’t? what if there was something wrong with me?! Well, as it turns out, it’s not difficult at all! Instead of a finite amount of love to be divided in twain, the love just doubles and there’s plenty to go around! Lol, that’s a bit silly, but I’m feeling silly today (and it’s true). Someday, my children will realize that their mom is a dork, and then they will have to come to terms with their own dorkiness that I have instilled into them. Check out what this dork made for her own Mom!

Tutorial: Dancing Ribbon Rings

With my niece’s birthday (6 years old!) coming up, I was searching around for something to get her when I discovered these beauties: Dancing Ribbon Rings.

These would make awesome party favors for a little girl’s party! They’re quick and easy, and relatively inexpensive. They would also work great in Easter or May Day baskets, or make them red-white-and-blue for the 4th of July, or Christmas-them-up for stocking stuffers!

Happy Valentines

Today we celebrated a quiet Valentine’s Day at home with the new baby. Gunner and I made Bo’s favorite cookies for a surprise. Gunner was such a great helper! I was quite impressed. I didn’t know how I was going to package the cookies in Valentine form, I didn’t just want to put them in a gift bag, but luckily we used up the last of an oatmeal container and decorated for Daddy’s Valentine. It was a lot of fun!

Beanbag Game for DG

Newest MSCE was actually worked on yesterday afternoon/evening. This is a beanbag game for my nephew’s birthday present. He’s 3 years-old! Sooooo cute! and such a little stinker, lol!

Space Cadet Beanbag Game

The beanbags are full of lentils in a self-contained muslin pouch, and the “covers” are removable with a velcro closure (for washability). The game plays like Bocci Ball or Horseshoes and the bags are designed for indoor or outdoor play. I’m mailing them out today, hope he likes them!
